Noida :
  • Noida (Hindi :  नोएडा (Noeḍā)), short for the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, is an area under the management of the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (also called NOIDA). Noida came into administrative existence on 17 April 1976 and celebrates 17 April as "Noida Day". Sanjay Gandhi set it up as part of an urbanization thrust during the controversial.

  • The Noida today was inhabited by around 100 Villages in the past and comes under the Gautum Budh Nagar Distt of U.P. Most of the land in Noida is not very fertile and the agricultural ouput is low. It comes under the flood area of river Yamuna by one side & Hindon on the other side. Many villages are visible from the Noida Expressway, beginning from the Mahamaya flyover to Greater Noida on both sides. Till 20 to 30 years back these villages were flooded every 2-3 years, resulting in people temporarily shifting to other places in Noida, and even as far as Mehrauli in Delhi. Before the Partition of India many villages of Noida had huge Muslim populations but most of the population moved away after 1947
